Pemanfaatan radiasi sinar gamma untuk multiplikasi tunas in vitro gerbera Gerbera jamesonii Bolus ex Hook.



Tanggal ketik: 19941029, xx. rnDokumentalis: xx. rnSari: The use of gamma radiation in multiplying in vitro Gerbera shoots in the right doses is expected to increase the number of shoots formed. In doing so, the use of gamma radiation is expected to be helpful. A research has been carried out with the purpose of determining the right radiation doses in increasing the multiplication Gerbera shoots. The gamma radiations have been applied to in vitro shoots in 0, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 and 2500 rad doses. The research took place at Tissue Culture Laboratory, Spice and Medicina Research Office, Bogor and at Isotop and Radiation Application Center, National Atomic Energy, Jakarta for the radiation application.The results show that the application of 500 rad dose radiation stimulated the acceleration of the appearance of in vitro shoots, the appearance of roots and the number of roots formed. At the beginning, however, the application of 1000 rad doses radiation did not affect the number of roots formed, and starting with the 6th week after the planting, increase was shown of the number of roots formed. meanwhile a radiation dose of more than 1000 rad delay the forming of in vitro shoots.
